The capsid of a virus has different surface proteins from the rest of the virus. The antigen is a protein that binds specifically on one of these surface proteins. It is commonly referred to as the Australian Antigen.
Recombinant HbsAg ayw full length is a 24kDa protein cloned from HBV 320 genome. Source Saccharomyces cerevisae. Physical Appearance Sterile Filtered clear solution. Formulation Sterile Filtered solution containing 0.05M phosphate buffer pH 7.2 and 0.2M NaCl. Stability HBsAg should be stored at 4°C. Purity Greater than 98.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Applications HBsAg protein was tested in ELISA with anti-HBsAg antibodies (capture and conjugate).
